Technology Enables, People Decide

An HR leader who sees AI as a powerful enabler — and empathy, judgement and values as what keep it human

Technology can make HR smarter, but it cannot replace the human understanding behind every people decision. Ms. Snigdha Ranish currently serves as HR Business Partner at University Hospital Sharjah, where she strongly shares AI as a powerful enabler, while empathy, judgement, and organizational values remain essential to ensuring technology serves people effectively.

She also envisions a future where HR moves beyond being a support function to becoming a predictive, people-intelligence partner.

Recognized as one of the 10 Most Inspiring Women Leaders in Asia 2026, Ms. Snigdha Ranish shares the long-held perceptions about successful women leaders that she believes organizations and society should leave behind in an exclusive conversation with Corporate TrendZ Asia:

“One misconception I would like to see left behind is the belief that successful women leaders have to be exceptionally tough, constantly prove themselves, or sacrifice other aspects of their lives to earn a place at the table. Women leaders are often judged by different standards. Assertiveness can be interpreted as being difficult, confidence can be perceived as aggression, and ambition can sometimes be viewed differently depending on who demonstrates it. We need to move beyond these double standards and evaluate leaders on their impact, capability, character, and ability to bring people along with them.”

She further highlighted:

“Ultimately, successful women should not have to fit a predefined image of what a leader looks like. The future of leadership is about authenticity, capability, and impact, and about creating workplaces where people can lead in a way that is true to who they are.”
