With its expansion in Asia, Coller Capital Tokyo office appoints Hisashi Tanaka as Head of Japan Private Wealth. This move will lead initiatives to bring institutional-quality secondary solutions to the country’s private wealth community, offering diversified portfolio strategies.
Hisashi Tanaka brings over two decades of experience in fundraising, distribution, and retail investment across Japan to his role. With previous experience in senior positions at major global asset managers, including New York Life Investments, Schroders, BNP Paribas, and others, he strengthens his expertise in private wealth engagement and market development.
The appointment of Hisashi Tanaka is a strategic move that underscores Coller Capital’s ongoing commitment to deepen engagement with private wealth investors in Asia. Hisashi Tanaka holds the position of Head of Japan Private Wealth within the firm’s Private Wealth Secondaries Solutions (PWSS) team.
The Tokyo office, which began operations in November 2025, will serve as a key base for expanding access to private equity and private credit secondaries for individual and family office investors in Japan. Coller Capital’s expansion at the Tokyo office and in the Asia Pacific region reflects the firm’s belief in the long-term potential of the private markets and its dedication to delivering differentiated investment opportunities to both institutional and private investors.
