HDI Global SE has appointed John Morrell as the new Head of Energy & Power Underwriting for the Middle East. Based in Dubai, Morrell will be leading a team that will focus primarily on complex risks across conventional power and renewable resources.

With more than 14 years of experience in the renewable energy and construction sectors across the Asia-Pacific region, Morrell brings technical underwriting expertise and a strong track record to the role. His appointment supports HDI Global’s strategic push in the region where energy transition, infrastructure build-out, and mega-project risks are creating growth opportunities for specialty insurers.
