Standard Chartered has appointed Charlotte Wong as Managing Director, Chief Technology & Operations Officer. A strategic move that will strengthen its leadership as the bank continues to enhance its technology infrastructure and operational capabilities across its global banking network.
She brings extensive leadership experience in banking technology, digital transformation, and operations, with a strong track record of driving large-scale technology initiatives within global financial institutions. She previously held senior leadership roles at HSBC for more than two decades, most recently serving as a Managing Director, Chief Information Officer, Hong Kong. She also held senior management roles, including Head of Wholesale Technology Hong Kong, Global Head of Funds Technology, HSBC Securities Services, and more, where she led digital innovation, platform modernization, and operational transformation programs.
She holds academic qualifications from the University of the People, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The University of Hong Kong. In her new role, she will focus on strengthening the bank’s technology and operations framework, advancing digital capabilities, and supporting the organization’s long-term vision of delivering secure, efficient, and future-ready banking solutions.
