Topsoe appointed Elena Scaltritti as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 June 2026. She succeeds Roeland Baan; her appointment marks an important evolution in Topsoe’s leadership as the company accelerates its innovation agenda and strengthens its role in the global energy transition landscape.

With over two decades of experience, Elena brings a strong track record of commercial leadership and business excellence to the top role, having played a pivotal role in building Topsoe’s market position across low-carbon and renewable fuels since joining the company in 2022 as Chief Commercial Officer.

She has also served in Executive Vice President roles at SONGWON Industrial Group (SONGWON), leadership roles at BASF, Ciba, and Nalco Water, An Ecolab Company, gaining extensive experience in commercial excellence, market development, and international business leadership. Elena holds a Bachelor of Science in Organic Chemistry from the Università degli Studi di Milano and an MBA from the MIB School of Management at MIP Politecnico di Milano, reflecting her strong scientific foundation and strategic business acumen.

Elena has represented industry perspectives at major global conferences and advisory boards, leveraging her expertise in decarbonization, sustainable fuels, and technology adoption. Her leadership is expected to play a defining role in shaping the company’s long-term direction, partnerships, and technological influence worldwide.
