Generali Asia has announced the appointment of Sun Lei as Deputy Regional Officer. This strategic appointment aims to strengthen its leadership presence across Asia as it continues to expand its insurance and asset management operations in the region.

With over two decades of experience in the insurance and financial services sector. During his professional career, he spent over two decades at Allianz, where he joined as a Regional Actuarial Manager – Asia Pacific. Over the years, he was elevated to senior leadership roles. He most recently served as a Group M&A, after serving as a CFO – Allianz China Holding.

He holds a strong academic foundation from the Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Tsinghua University, and INSEAD. In his new role, he will provide strategic and operational oversight for Generali’s China-based entities, strengthen governance with joint-venture partners and key stakeholders, and support regional project initiatives across Asia while contributing to the group’s sustainability agenda.

This appointment is a strategic decision by the organisation to support the long-term strategy of expanding its footprint in high-growth markets, particularly China, as part of its broader regional growth ambitions.
