Marc Haushofer & Joachim Mathe appointed as Managing Director APAC and Head of Special Markets, respectively, at VIG RE. The appointment of the senior leadership team with two strategic leaders as part of its ongoing VIG RE28 growth strategy, aimed at strengthening regional presence and specialised capabilities worldwide.
With over two decades of experience at Munich Re, Joachim Mathe has most recently served as Global Head of Insurance Consultancy at Munich Re. His appointment at VIG RE will strengthen the VIGRe28 strategy. This reflects a clear commitment of the company towards a client-centric growth with an aim to accelerate development, diversify beyond traditional Non-Life treaty markets, and deliver tailored solutions that meet evolving needs. He commented on his appointment, “I am very much looking forward to the challenges ahead. Above all, I am excited to work closely with colleagues across the organisation and to reconnect with familiar faces as this new chapter begins.”

Marc Haushofer is promoted as Managing Director APAC. In his new role, he will be responsible for strategising the existing business in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, while driving the reinsurer’s pan‑Asian expansion. He has served at RenaissanceRe, Singapore Reinsurers’ Association, Singapore College Of Insurance, Validus Reinsurance, Ltd., and Munich Re.
