Manulife has announced a major leadership realignment across its Asia operations. Effective December 1, Bonnie Qiu will transition from her role as Chief Distribution Officer for Asia to take on an expanded mandate as CEO of Global High-Net-Worth (HNW) and Chief Partnership Distribution Officer for Asia. In this combined leadership role, she will oversee the organisation’s HNW portfolio while continuing to guide partnership-led distribution across bancassurance, international brokerage networks, and digital channels.
The transition aligns with the planned departure of Jean Wong, who will step down as Global HNW CEO in Q2 2026 after nearly three decades with the company. Wong played a central role in establishing Manulife’s global HNW business unit in 2023 and leading the company’s strategic entry into the Middle East via its new Dubai office at the Dubai International Financial Centre.
