Paula Ip appointed as CEO at Hong Kong Investment Funds Association

The Hong Kong Investment Funds Association (HKIFA) has appointed Paula Ip as Chief Executive Officer. With her appointment, HKIFA’s mission is to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a global asset management hub and advance its industry-wide initiatives.

With over 30 years of professional experience at leading international financial institutions. Most recently, she served as Managing Director at UBS AG, Global Wealth Management, where she oversaw fund advisory and distribution across North Asia. She also held senior leadership positions at GAM, ING, and J.P. Morgan (Chase) Asset Management, where she contributed to strategic distribution, business development, and client engagement across multiple markets.

In her new role at HKIFA, she will be responsible for driving strategic priorities, including industry engagement, regulatory consultation, and fund distribution initiatives, with an emphasis on fostering collaboration among members and stakeholders to address evolving investor needs and market dynamics. Her academic qualifications are from University of Oxford and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

HKIFA Chairman Sam Yu noted that Ip’s appointment supports the organisation’s long-term vision to deepen Hong Kong’s role as a premier global asset management centre. Her leadership is expected to reinforce HKIFA’s growth strategy and contribute to its ongoing transformation agenda.
